The quick read
What to know
- Choose the hotel around both travellers' interests, then fit golf into the week. A good course itinerary alone does not make a good shared holiday.
- For an autumn or winter stay, check the facilities that will operate on your dates rather than relying on summer photographs.
- Request a quote for the actual mix of golfers and non-golfers, with room sharing, transfers and optional activities made clear.
One of you wants to play Carya or Gloria. The other would happily spend a morning reading, swimming or exploring Antalya. That can make an excellent holiday, provided the week is planned for two people from the start.
The most useful conversation happens before comparing packages: which experiences do you each want alone, and which do you want together? A golf trip becomes much easier to share when the non-golfer's plans carry the same weight as the golfer's course list.
Write two short wish lists before choosing the hotel
Ask each person to name three things that would make the week enjoyable. For the golfer, that might be particular courses, practice time and a manageable number of rounds. For the other traveller it might be swimming, a quiet place to read and one day in Antalya. Notice where the lists overlap, such as leisurely breakfasts or dinner together.
Use those priorities to compare rooms, board arrangements and facilities. A hotel that is convenient for golf may still be a poor match if the other person would prefer a different atmosphere or more opportunities to leave the resort. Conversely, a larger resort with more activities is not automatically better for someone seeking a quiet break.
For winter, ask which pool and which spa services
Two official examples illustrate the level of detail worth checking. Regnum Carya's current pool page describes a heated indoor pool. Gloria Serenity's 2026 concept lists a winter-heated indoor pool, while its general outdoor pool is marked closed in winter. It lists Olivium separately as heated in winter, so the general outdoor-pool closure should not be read as applying to every pool. The same Gloria document separates paid massages and treatments from the spa facilities.
These sources were checked on 3 November 2026. They are useful starting points, not a promise that every facility will operate throughout your stay. Ask for the concept covering your dates and confirm any facility that is central to your choice, including age restrictions and extra charges.
Instead of asking only 'Does it have a spa?', ask whether the space you want is available, what access includes and whether a treatment needs a separate reservation. If swimming is the main activity, identify the specific pool rather than treating all outdoor pools as interchangeable.
Plan the meeting point in the day
A tee time affects breakfast, transport, warm-up and the return journey as well as the round itself. Work backwards from the time you would like to be together again. An early start may leave more of the afternoon available, while a later start may suit a shared breakfast; neither guarantees a fixed finish.
Agree a realistic meeting window rather than a precise lunch reservation immediately after golf. Share the pickup arrangements and keep each other informed if play slows or weather changes the day. The aim is for the non-golfer to enjoy an independent morning without waiting for an uncertain message.

| Shared priority | A useful planning choice | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Breakfast together | Choose compatible tee times where available | Transfer departure and breakfast service. |
| An unhurried afternoon | Keep the return window flexible | Course travel, warm-up and likely finish arrangements. |
| A day out together | Reserve a day without golf | Return transport and any separate admissions. |
| Time for individual interests | Plan an activity each person actually wants | Bookings, access and extra charges. |
Leave a full day for something you both choose
If visiting Antalya matters to both of you, give it its own space in the itinerary. Squeezing a city visit between a round and dinner can make it feel like another appointment. A day without golf gives you room to explore at your own pace and return when you are ready.
Independent outings also need a plan. Confirm the pickup point and return arrangement, and explain any access needs in advance. Do not assume a golf shuttle serves sightseeing stops or that a hotel stay includes an excursion. Our rest-day guide offers a starting point for deciding what interests you.
Do not turn the non-golfer into an automatic spectator
Some partners enjoy joining a round; others would rather do something entirely different. Ask them first. If accompanying the golfer appeals, check the club's visitor policy, transport and any charges before adding the person to the day's plan.
A casual practice session or introductory lesson can be another option if the interest is genuine. It should be booked as an activity in its own right, not presented as a route onto a championship course regardless of experience or entry requirements.
Request a quote that describes both travellers
Tell us there are two travellers but only one golfer, the room and bed arrangement you want, the intended rounds and the activities that matter to the other person. Ask for the total for your actual party rather than trying to subtract an assumed green-fee amount from a two-golfer package.
Add flight details when available and flag separate arrivals or independent outings. A clear enquiry makes it easier to see where the package fits and which optional services need separate confirmation. There is no automatic non-golfer discount promised by this guide.
A few more answers
Common questions
Is Belek suitable when only one partner plays golf?
It can work well when the hotel and itinerary suit both people. Decide on the non-golfer's interests, confirm seasonal facilities and protect time together before filling the week with rounds.
Are all resort pools open in winter?
No single rule covers every hotel or pool. Check the specific property's current seasonal concept and confirm the pool you intend to use for your stay.
Does a non-golfer automatically pay less?
Ask for a quote based on the actual golfer and non-golfer mix. Room sharing, the package and included services affect the total; an automatic reduction should not be assumed.
