Golf Practice and Lessons in Belek: Plan Time Beyond the Tee Sheet

Plan a useful practice session or golf lesson in Belek: facilities to check, questions for a coach, arrival-day timing and the distinction between range and course practice.

The quick read

What to know

  • Choose the purpose first: a brief pre-round session, focused practice or a booked lesson needs a different place in the itinerary.
  • Confirm access, equipment, lesson arrangements and any separate charges; a golf package does not establish every practice inclusion.
  • Use the designated practice facilities and follow the competition's instructions about practising on the course.

A golf itinerary usually starts with hotels and rounds. Practice time often gets squeezed into whatever remains. In Belek, it is worth deciding whether you want a short session before play, time to work on one part of your game, or a booked lesson. Those are different appointments, even if they happen at the same club.

You do not need to turn a holiday into a training camp. The aim is to give any practice a clear purpose and enough space in the day. This is an itinerary guide rather than a prescribed swing programme or a promise of improvement.

Choose the session before choosing the facility

For a pre-round visit, your priority may be to become familiar with the clubs and the putting surface before meeting the starter. For a separate practice session, you may want a place to repeat a specific task without watching the clock. For coaching, start with a question you would like help answering.

Write that purpose in ordinary language: I am returning after a break; I want help with distance control on putts; I would like someone to explain why I struggle with this shot. The coach can decide how to assess it. A narrow, honest brief is easier to discuss than an expectation that one session will change every part of your game.

Keep notes from any existing lessons if you want to share them. Explain which parts you are already working on and what you hope to take home. That gives the instructor context without asking them to guess from a handicap number alone.

What official Belek academy pages tell us

Gloria's academy page, reviewed on 22 October 2026, describes covered range bays with TrackMan, grass tee areas and separate putting, pitching, chipping and bunker practice facilities. It also describes individual coaching and dedicated teaching facilities. Those published features make it a useful place to enquire about the type of session you want.

Cullinan Links' academy page lists individual and small-group lesson formats, as well as a nine-hole playing lesson. Its published playing-lesson description excludes the green fee and buggy. Reconfirm the current scope when enquiring; the article does not reproduce lesson prices or promise a particular instructor, time or inclusion.

Treat a facility page as the start of a conversation. Ask which areas you may use, whether a reservation is needed and how the session fits your travel dates. A named technology or a photograph of a practice area is not confirmation that every guest can use it at any time.

Questions to settle before booking

Give the academy the number of players, their experience and the subject they want to work on. For a mixed group, explain the differences rather than supplying only the strongest player's handicap. Ask how the session would be organised and whether a shared appointment suits those needs.

Confirm the practical details in the reply. If you are hiring clubs, say so early; if you need coaching in a particular language, ask rather than assuming. Keep the booking separate from your tee-time confirmation so you can see exactly what has and has not been arranged.

  • What is the session's focus, duration and meeting point?
  • Which instructor or suitable alternative is confirmed, and in which language?
  • Are practice access, balls and any required equipment included in this arrangement?
  • For an on-course session, which playing costs and course-access requirements are separate?
  • What happens if weather or facility conditions prevent the planned session?

Give practice its own place in the day

For a lesson, work backwards from the confirmed appointment: collection or transfer, check-in and equipment should be dealt with before the instructor's time starts. Avoid using the lesson's start time as your target arrival at the clubhouse. Ask the academy how early it wants you there.

For a playing day, work backwards from the club's reporting instructions and tee time. A simple sequence might be arrival, check-in, a brief practice visit if time permits, and then the starting point. This is a planning example, not a fixed warm-up duration or a claim about any club's opening hours.

An arrival day can be convenient for a flexible practice visit, but a flight landing time is not a clubhouse arrival time. Before attaching a fixed lesson to that day, consider the consequences of a later arrival and ask about the booking terms. Another morning may leave fewer moving parts.

Keep practice areas and the course distinct

Competition practice permissions deserve a separate check. Under Rule 5.2, the normal stroke-play restriction on practising on the course before that day's round has exceptions, including practice areas. Match play has a different baseline, and a Committee may alter permissions through a Local Rule. Ask the organiser which instructions apply rather than using an empty hole as an unofficial range.

Rule 5 also requires the player to be ready at the designated starting point and time. Finishing a practice session is not a reason to hold up the group. If time is short, ask the starter where you need to go next and leave the practice area in time to meet the instructions.

Within the practice facility, follow its signs and staff directions. Use the area provided for the shot you intend to play and ask if its purpose is unclear. Allow the coach to decide where an assessment should take place instead of moving between the range, short-game area and course without an agreed plan.

Take away something you can use

At the end of a lesson, ask the coach to summarise the point you worked on and the practice task they recommend next. Make a brief note in your own words while it is fresh. If you have another round booked, ask how they suggest keeping that task separate from the decisions you need to make on the course.

You may decide that the holiday needs only one lesson and a little unhurried practice, or that a dedicated session deserves a place between rounds. Either choice is easier when it is planned explicitly. Include practice or coaching requests in the trip brief, and wait for written confirmation before treating them as part of the package.

A few more answers

Common questions

Are range balls and lessons included in my Belek golf package?

Do not assume so. Ask for the written inclusions covering your chosen club, dates and guests. Facility access, range balls, coaching and any on-course lesson arrangements need to be checked separately.

Can beginners ask about golf lessons in Belek?

Gloria describes its academy as serving golfers of all levels. Send the academy your experience, goals, preferred language and equipment needs so it can advise on a suitable session. A lesson reservation does not itself confirm access to an 18-hole course.

Can I warm up on the course before a competition?

Check the format and Local Rules. Rule 5.2 generally restricts practising on the course before a stroke-play round on that day, with specified exceptions including practice areas. The baseline for match play differs, and the Committee can change practice permissions by Local Rule.
