Bring Your Golf Clubs or Hire in Belek? A Practical Decision Guide

Compare bringing your own golf clubs with hiring in Belek: airline checks, rental specifications, collection arrangements and questions to settle before travelling.

The quick read

What to know

  • Decide from the complete trip: your equipment preferences, every flight sector, the number of rounds and the confirmed hire arrangements.
  • Ask for the actual rental specification, collection point and return conditions before treating a hire set as booked.
  • Recheck the operating airline's golf-equipment policy for your itinerary; baggage limits and booking requirements are not interchangeable.

Your own clubs offer familiar distances and feel. A hired set can remove a bulky item from the journey. Neither choice is automatically right for a Belek golf holiday: the useful comparison is between two complete arrangements, not a golf bag on one side and an unspecified rental promise on the other.

Start with the rounds you actually intend to play. A week built around several courses raises different collection and return questions from a single round during a beach holiday. Make the equipment decision before finalising transfers and tee times, while there is still room to resolve the details.

Start with the clubs you rely on

Write down what makes your present set comfortable: right- or left-handed heads, shaft material and flex, any length adjustment, preferred wedges and the putter you use. If those details matter to you, a rental brand name alone is not enough information. Ask for a specification rather than assuming the available set will resemble yours.

Bringing your own set may suit a player who wants continuity across several rounds or uses a particular fitting. Hiring may suit someone who values travelling with fewer items and is comfortable adapting. These are personal priorities, not claims that one option produces better scores. A short practice session with unfamiliar clubs is a sensible item to include in your arrival-day plan.

Check the flight booking, not a remembered allowance

The airline examples reviewed on 15 October 2026 illustrate why one rule should not be applied to every booking. Turkish Airlines specifies a maximum of 23 kg for one golf set, requires a reservation entry and says personal belongings should not be packed in the golf bag. It also requires protective packing in a dedicated bag.

easyJet lists golf clubs under small sports equipment, with a 20 kg maximum, and says the purchased sports-equipment and hold-luggage weights cannot be pooled. Neither example establishes the allowance for a different airline, a different itinerary or a later policy. Check the current page and your booking before packing; no free-carriage entitlement is promised here.

For a connecting journey, note the operating carrier on each sector and ask how the golf bag is handled through the connection. Keep the equipment confirmation with the flight documents. Weigh the packed travel cover, including the cover itself, rather than estimating from the clubs alone. Ask the carrier to resolve any unclear restriction before the day of departure.

What a rental enquiry should contain

Cullinan Links' official information page lists left- and right-handed rental golf sets through its pro shop. That is useful evidence that hire is offered there; it does not establish the current model, shaft selection, stock or availability for your dates. Confirm the precise arrangement directly instead of extending one club's service to every course in Belek.

Send the supplier your dates, the courses you plan to play, the required hand and any important fitting preference. Ask what is supplied if the preferred set cannot be provided. A clear answer before travelling is more useful than discovering at the first tee that a general reservation did not cover a particular specification.

  • Which clubs, shaft options and putter are in the proposed set?
  • Where and when can I collect it, and how much time should I leave before my round?
  • Can it be kept between rounds or taken to another course, or is it returned after each round?
  • What are the written payment, deposit, damage, cancellation and late-return conditions?

Compare the complete journey

Use the same dates and number of rounds when comparing the options. Include the quoted baggage arrangements, travel-cover needs, hire duration and any extra collection journey. There is no universal break-even point: the answer depends on the actual booking and equipment offered.

For a group, make one equipment list with a separate entry for each golfer. Someone bringing a large travel case and someone hiring at the club create different loading and collection needs. Tell the transfer organiser how many golf bags and ordinary suitcases are travelling; do not assume that a vehicle selected for a headcount has already allowed for every bag.

Make the first morning straightforward

Before leaving home, keep the booking confirmations together and make a simple inventory of your equipment. For a hired set, check the clubs and condition at collection and raise any mismatch before taking it away. Ask where the set is returned and save that instruction with the booking.

If you plan to play soon after arrival, give the equipment arrangements the same attention as the tee time. Ask what happens if you reach the collection point later than expected. Avoid making the whole first round depend on a narrow connection between arrival, baggage collection, a rental desk and the starter.

Build the equipment plan around your golf package

Our Cullinan Belek seven-night package with four rounds at Cullinan Links Aspendos is one way to plan a week around that course. Cullinan lists rental sets through its pro shop, but the package does not establish a hire reservation. Ask for the required hand, specification and collection arrangements to be confirmed separately for each golfing day.

The Sueno Hotels Deluxe Belek seven-night, four-round package offers another starting point for a golf week. Check the current package page for its golf plan, then tell us whether you will bring your clubs or need hire investigated. Do not assume that rental equipment is included, or that a set hired at one club may be taken to another.

Put the equipment request in writing

When requesting your Belek trip, state which golfers will bring clubs and which would like hire investigated, together with the relevant hand and specification. Treat hire as confirmed only when the written arrangements identify the supplier, dates and scope. A package title or a photograph of clubs does not settle those questions.

Choose the option that leaves the fewest unresolved details for your trip. Familiar equipment may be worth carrying; a clearly confirmed hire set may be worth the lighter journey. Either can work well when the flight, transfer and first-round arrangements have been considered together.

Common questions

Can I hire left-handed golf clubs in Belek?

Cullinan Links lists left- and right-handed rental sets through its pro shop. That confirms a service, not stock for your dates. Ask the club to confirm the hand, shaft, set composition and collection arrangements before travelling without your own clubs.

Do airlines all use the same golf-bag weight limit?

No. When reviewed on 15 October 2026, Turkish Airlines listed a 23 kg limit for one golf set, while easyJet classed golf clubs as small sports equipment with a 20 kg maximum. Recheck the policy for every flight on your booking.

Does a golf holiday quote automatically include club hire?

Only treat club hire as included when your written quote explicitly says so. Ask who supplies the set, which rounds it covers, where it is collected and returned, and what happens if the requested specification is unavailable.
