Organising a Golf Group Trip to Belek

Plan a golf society trip to Belek: rooming, tee-time blocks, handicaps, mixed abilities, golf-bag transfers, a competition day and how 7+1 group offers work.

The quick read

What to know

  • One organiser should keep the headcount, rooming list, flights, handicaps and golf-bag numbers in a single, current list.
  • A qualifying 7+1 offer covers seven paid base hotel-and-golf packages and one free place. Hotel-specific limits and exclusions apply; check the package conditions and have eligibility, rooms and tee times confirmed for your booking.
  • For a competition day, agree the format, tees, handicap allowance and tie-break in advance, and plan transfers around staggered tee times.

A golf society trip to Belek is usually shaped long before anyone reaches the first tee: who shares a room, how many tee times the group needs and how a vehicle full of golf bags reaches the course on time. Organising goes more smoothly when one person holds the information and decisions follow a sensible order.

This guide sets out that order. It draws on the R&A's guidance for competition committees, the published conditions of two Belek clubs and the group-offer terms shown on Alexa Golf package pages when they were rechecked on 4 October 2026. Alexa Golf arranges hotels, golf and transfers as a travel agency; rooms, tee times and any group offer are confirmed for each booking.

Start with one organiser, one list and a clear rooming plan

Nominate an organiser and agree what they will collect. Our Belek planning guide has a general checklist for a group quote request; a society trip also needs a rooming plan, handicaps and golf-bag numbers. A group quote is easier to prepare when the basics are known from the start: golfers and non-golfers, preferred dates, who is flying from where and who wants a room alone. Keep one list, updated in one place.

Decide early how the group will sleep. Package prices on the site are shown per person in a double room, so two golfers sharing is the reference point. A golfer who prefers a room alone should expect a single-room supplement, quoted separately. If sharers want separate beds, say so at the start; the room configuration is confirmed with the booking.

How the 7+1 group offer is presented

Some packages on this site publish a 7+1 group offer: when eight golfers travel together on the same package, seven places are paid and one is free. It is not attached to every package, and the terms sit on each package page. Where a group price appears beside the standard price, it is labelled per person × 8: that figure spreads the value of the free place evenly across all eight golfers.

The conditions vary by hotel. Those reviewed on 4 October 2026 followed these patterns, which is why the page for your chosen package is the one to read:

  • All eight golfers book the same hotel, package and travel dates together.
  • The group price assumes adults sharing double rooms; single-room supplements are quoted separately.
  • The free place covers the base hotel stay and the included golf. Extras such as additional rounds and equipment hire are quoted separately, and some hotels also list transfers among them.
  • At the two Sueno hotels the free place is the cheapest qualifying package, with a cap on free places per group; at Lykia World it is for a group leader or PGA professional.
  • Some hotels add requirements, such as limiting the offer to certain package lengths, requiring the same nationality, or excluding non-golfers and juniors.
  • Whether the offer can be combined with another discount differs from hotel to hotel.
  • Group eligibility, rooms and tee times are subject to confirmation.

Tee-time blocks, handicaps and mixed abilities

A party of 16 golfers playing in fours needs a block of four consecutive tee times rather than one booking. The club sets the interval between starts. As a guide, the R&A's pace-of-play manual suggests clubs consider 11 or even 12 minutes between groups of four, and at least 10 for groups of three. At that spacing, the fourth group starts more than half an hour after the first, which affects transfers, lunch and any shared prize-giving.

Once times are confirmed, turn them into a start sheet showing each group, its starting time and the starting tee. The R&A advises competition committees to make draw sheets available at the course even when times have been sent electronically.

Check handicaps before travel, not at the club desk. Requirements are set by each course. At the time of writing (4 October 2026), Carya's green-fee page states that a handicap certificate is required and gives a maximum of 36 for men and women, while Montgomerie Maxx Royal's course information lists 28 for men and 36 for women. Ask each golfer for their current Handicap Index and evidence of it, and raise anyone near a club's limit before the courses are chosen.

Mixed-ability groups work best when not everyone is forced into the same day. A lesson, a practice session or a shorter round may suit newer golfers better than a full competition. Non-golfers need their own plan: count them separately for rooms and transfers, and compare hotel facilities as carefully as the courses.

Moving a group and its golf bags

Count passengers, suitcases and golf travel bags separately: a vehicle with enough seats may not have space for every bag. Share split arrivals as soon as flights are known: our transfers page explains that separate arrivals can be planned within one itinerary, with pick-up times and vehicle size confirmed in the quote.

On golf days, build the transfer around the start sheet rather than the first tee time alone. If the first and last groups start more than half an hour apart, a single collection at the end of play may leave early finishers waiting. Decide whether the group returns together or in stages. Airlines set their own sports-equipment rules, so each golfer should check that their bag is recorded on their own booking.

Running a competition day and keeping to a timeline

A society competition is more enjoyable when its terms are settled before the trip. The R&A's Committee Procedures recommend that organisers set out the format, the tees to be used, the handicap allowance, how ties will be decided and when the result is final. Put them on one page with the start sheet. Choose tees that suit the field: the R&A cautions against forced carries that many players could clear only with their very best shot.

Under the Rules of Handicapping, the allowance turns each golfer's Course Handicap for the tees played into a Playing Handicap; our Stableford guide works through that conversion. Appendix C recommends 95% for individual stroke-play formats in fields of 30 to 100 players and notes that 100% could be considered for fields of fewer than 30. As an alternative, it mentions divisions or flights, with different handicap ranges competing for separate prizes. The club confirms tee times and its own services; the society sets and runs its competition.

A workable sequence is to agree dates, headcount and a budget range; send a group request; collect the rooming list, flights and handicaps; confirm tee times and transfers; then share the start sheet and competition terms before departure. Review the written proposal for anything still awaiting confirmation.

A few more answers

Common questions

Does the 7+1 group offer mean one golfer travels free?

The offer is seven paid places and one free place for eight golfers travelling together, subject to each hotel's conditions: the two Sueno hotels make the cheapest qualifying package the free one and cap free places per group, while Lykia World reserves the free place for a group leader or PGA professional on its eligible seven-night package. The free place covers the base hotel stay and included golf; extra rounds, equipment hire and other extras are quoted separately, and Sueno also excludes airport and golf transfers. Where a package shows a group price, that figure spreads the benefit evenly across all eight golfers sharing double rooms. Conditions differ by hotel and are listed on each package page; our team confirms whether a group qualifies for its dates.

Can non-golfers or golfers in single rooms join a 7+1 group?

Check the package conditions. Some state that non-golfers and juniors do not qualify, and the group price assumes sharing double rooms, with single-room supplements quoted separately. Non-golfing companions can still be added to the group's quote; they are priced separately and are not counted among the eight golfers.

Do golfers need a handicap certificate in Belek?

Requirements are set by each club. At the time of writing (4 October 2026), Carya's green-fee page asks for a handicap certificate and Montgomerie Maxx Royal publishes handicap limits. Bring evidence of your current handicap and check every course in the itinerary.
